Villa l'Esterel - Cannes luxury holiday villas South France

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful villa. The owners gave us a very friendly and solicitous welcome (in excellent English), and they were very courteous in arranging to come to water flowers mid week around us. Unusually for French rentals in our experience the villa is well equipped with basics like washing up cloths and toilet roll, and the owners are happy for you to use the condiments, coffee etc in the kitchen. Everything is very clean, well equipped and in good working order. The garden is absolutely beautiful, with a superb view from the patio, and the pool is lovely. It feels tranquil and is removed from the hustle of the city.

The house has lovely antique and/or artistic furniture, which may raise the blood pressure of those with young children. This probably also explains the very sizable damage deposit required. The double bedrooms have comfy beds.

A great place for a quiet family vacation in Cote D`azur (best for up to 11 persons). The house is conveniently located at a quiet neighborhood in Nice, about 3 miles from the English Promenade and the beach. It has a rather spacious living room, 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. There is a lovey 2,000 square meter garden with plenty of olive trees, some lemon trees, and 2 parking places. There is a nice 12m swimming pool in the garden, which our children enjoyed very much. There is a splendid view of the sea and part of Nice from the garden. The house is renovated in very good condition, clean, and fully equipped with all furniture and amenities. The kitchen is modern, has a new dishwasher, oven, electric stove, refrigerator, toaster, microwave and a laundry machine. There is a nice TV and DVD player in the living room and 2 more TV sets in the bedrooms. The living room and bedrooms open to the garden, which is very nice. Private pool, large garden with plenty of shade from the trees, spacious living area, well-renovated house with modern equipment and furniture. Close to Nice and the beach. All linen and towels were supplied, clean. Kostas and Isabelle, the house owners, live in a nearby house, speak good English and were very nice and helpful, including picking us up from the airport, and showing us around the neighborhood. When we arrived at the house late at night, they put some food and water in the refrigerator, some fruits, and even a bottle of wine! We will definitely come back!

The local shops have several excellent boulangeries, a couple of small supermarkets, a fabulous ice cream bar, a chemist etc. We were recommended La Ribote restaurant. There are some basic cafes and a couple of pizza takeaways, but for a reasonable meal out the nearest we found was La Magnan which is most of the way to the bay. Once at the bay, there is public beach (pebbly) but no shops/cafes. You have to walk another kilometre eastwards to get to a choice of restaurants. Beautiful pool and charming garden.

We were a family of 5 including 3 children aged 22, 19 and 15 and we arrived at this wonderful villa on Sat 23 July 2019. We were met by Armandine who showed us round, explaining everything (lift and alarm operation etc). The villa itself was magnificent - all rooms with balconies to drink in the amazing views across to Cannes and beyond. Pool area was superb (own fridge and freezer to keep Moet and ice-creams at optimum temperature without having to go upstairs). Pool itself was good (not huge but certainly big enough for our family) and the "infinity" setting was perfect. Air-conditioning worked v well indeed (much needed in hot summer months). Theoule is a lovely (relatively quiet) town with sufficient restaurants to cater for our various tastes. If you want a flavour of Cote d`Azur without the crowds of Cannes, Nice etc then this is the place for you. Comfortable beds, good WIFI, plenty of bathrooms and good kitchen area meant everyone was happy. We stayed local - the beach and Theoule is about a 10 minute drive away - and simply pottered around enjoying fabulous views and weather. We flew to Nice and drove to Theoule - very easy journey - approx. 40 mins.

We stayed at the villa 3 times in the last 8 months, with our extended family of 8 people. It was very, very clean, everything worked perfect, and the space was great for the number of people. 4 big sleeping rooms, two lounges, every room with seaview, and also a lovely surrounding. I am in this part of South France since 35 years, but this villa is the best place on earth for myself. This is a great destination for people with kids, for 2 families, for a group of friends without kids,. Or also for holidays with a big family with grandpa and grandma, because there is an elevator!!! The INFINITY POOL and the relaxing area is unbelievable.....It is not a negative, but due to the location of the villa on a hillside, I think it is advisable to hire a car to get about. We stayed 2 weeks at this fantastic sea view villa in Theoule. The first week we were 3 couples and our 6 month old baby and the second week just my wife, the baby and me. The house comes with a smooth and well arranged interior - not to much but nothing is missing. It has three levels where you find the several (4 bedrooms, each with a own balcony, one with a own terrace). It doesn`t matter in which room you are, if you lay in your bed, sit on the kitchen table or on the couch - you see ALWAYS the sea - it`s incredible. This two weeks in the house were a great relaxing time, the neighbourhood is fantastic, the house next door is the famous "Palais Bulles" owned by famous designer Pierre Cardin - one of France most iconic houses. Last but not least I need to mention Frederic - the owner and host. Frederic is fantastic - he welcomed us with Prosecco on ice, he walked us through the house what he and his family just finished to built in 2014 - you can feel how much he loves this place. The house next door is his brother`s house - he introduced us to the area, the stories around Theoule, he helped us to find the supermarket and was always available for questions.

The pictures can`t match what you feel if you enter the house which is around 200 meters above the sea level on the beautiful red rock steep coastline between Cannes and St. Tropez - the view from the terrace of the beautiful Mediterranean sea is just awesome. The space where we enjoyed most of our time is the terrace with the infinity pool. If you swim in the pool - it`s so beautiful because you become one with the blue sky, the azur sea and the refreshing water. We will come back for sure - one day - to enjoy the house, the sun, the sea again.
