L´Enchantement Gite is a charming 3 bedroomed holiday property in a beautiful 17th century stone Water Mill, on the edge of a river bank. The Gite is located in between Nimes and Montpellier in the South of France. There are 3 gites available for rent on the edge of the pretty village of Salinelles, 3 kms from the medieval town of Sommieres. Here we have featured the First floor gite which comprises 130m2 of living accommodation with 3 bedrooms and a private terrace.

Last visited April 2020. If you are looking for well-equipped and picturesque holiday gites in France, then the Water Mill near Sommieres is the perfect choice. With a large pool, adventure playground, games room, WiFi, air conditioning and 35 mins to the beaches, these gites provide everything that you could want from a family holiday in France.
With gorgeous river views and plenty of walks along the local lanes, this really is an idyllic spot to unwind and relax.

The pretty village of Salinelles is 3km from the beautiful town of Sommieres. This wonderful South France town has a spectacular Roman bridge over the river and lots of medieval architecture. The historic cities of Nimes and Montpellier are both about 30 mins drive away. Nimes has many Roman attractions such as the Arenes - the best preserved amphitheatre in Europe. Montpellier is a wonderful place for shopping, sporting activities and wandering through the narrow streets. The Pont du Gard is the famous and spectacular Roman 3 tier aqueduct is about 1 hour away. Anduze, Quissac, Uzes, Aigues Mortes and Avignon are some of the local towns that you may want to visit in this marvellous corner of South France. You will find many vibrant open air markets, full of local crafts and produce, and also ´brocantes´ which are furniture and antiques markets.
In the summer, Nimes has evening markets with plenty of open air dining in the warm summer nights. The Mediterranean coast is 30 minutes drive away and ou will find long sandy beaches of La Grande Motte. Diving, sailing and wind-surfing opportunities are plentiful along this coast.

Idyllic
Truly was idyllic! Photos don`t really do the either setting or the mill justice. We instantly relaxed the moment we arrived. The accommodation is lovely - really spacious and comfortable and furnished in beautiful French style. River location is really stunning. Play area, games rooms, bikes, kayaks, etc, etc were great for the children. Pool is big, very well looked after and lots of options for sun or shade (it was very hot even in May!). We also really, really liked nearby Sommieres which has an excellent market, pretty narrow streets, lots of lovely cafes and lovely boutique style shops. Would definitely recommend! We`re going back in the summer!
