Les Quatre saisons French country cottages are part of a former French country house transformed into holiday apartments and cottages. The cottages provide spacious and comfortable luxury accommodation in the South of France. These French country cottages are fully equipped with private gardens and terraces, outdoor and indoor pools, as well as a sauna. The cottages provide excellent accommodation for couples for either holidays or weekend breaks. These French country cottages are set in leafy grounds of the Priory Saint Martial, which was built on the site of an ancient Roman villa. The Priory itself dates from the 7th and 8th centuries. Les Quatre saisons French country cottages are situated in the Languedoc countryside in the Herault department. There is easy access from two motorways, two airports and the TGV. These French country cottages are also only 5 minutes from the pituresque town of Pezenas.
French country cottages facilities:
The accommodation is very spacious and naturally cool in summer. These French country cottages are decorated using traditional materials. Throughout the cottages are terracotta and yellow, green and red hued Spanish tiles. The old doors come from the 18thC sacristy. Adorning the walls are 4 canvases (1m x 1m), signed by Gilbert Blanquefort, representing the four seasons "in the matter of Botticelli, Ingres, Boucher and Manet".
The sleeping area is separated by a glazed partition surrounded by two carved wooden doors. The porch and garden are west facing. The total surface area is 72 m² providing ample accommodation for 2 people. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 bathroom with WC and 1 separate WC. The kitchen is fully equiped with dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and fridge. There is also a washing machine. These French country cottages also have Wifi access installed.

French country cottages - our verdict:
Last visited May 2010. Set in a wonderful setting just outside Pezenas and 20 mins to the beaches of the Mediterranean these French country cottages are an excellent choice. Full of charming original features and providing very spacious accommodation for 2 people, there is also the added bonus of a private terrace, 3 swimming pools (one heated) sauna, wifi and gardens.
These French country cottages have access to 3 swimmings pools (two outdoor pools, one of which has a children’s pool; plus a third indoor pool, heated all year round (between 27 and 30°c)). There is a south facing terrace, well sheltered, to enable you to bask in the sun in all seasons.
Aquatic Aerobic - On request or twice a week (except school holidays), a qualified gym instructor will help you relax and gently tone up all your muscles.
Sauna - The heat from Nordic countries available in the Languedoc Roussillon, for up to 8 people, shower available before swimming.
Get into shape with a session of weight training, at your own speed, a bench press, weights and wall bars.
Massages and beauty - A moment of pure relaxation: a qualified beauty specialist on request for body treatments, hair removal, make up, hair dying, manicures and pedicures.
These French country cottages are located amongst the vineyards of Languedoc Roussillon. Some of the best wines in the South of France can be found within a short drive - St Chinian, Faugeres, Picpoul de Pinet, Minervois and Fitou. The Languedoc Roussillon coast is a short drive away with some of the best beaches in the South of France to be found 20 minutes from the gite. In the village of Tourbes nearby there is an excellent restaurant and in nearby Valros there is the reknowned Auberge de la Tour. Pezenas also offers a host of good restaurants including L'Entre Pots and Le Printemps. The village has a range of shops including a baker, butcher, newsagent, grocer, post office, pharmacy, tourist office, hairdresser, bar, and medical centre.
A 5 minute drive from the lively medival town of Pezenas, home of Moliere, with its period architecture & a great choice of restaurants, pavement cafes, art galleries, museums, boutiques & a super Saturday market.
The Canal du Midi, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is 15 minutes away. The canal is ideal for hiring barges, cycling or walking along the towpath.
Set in beautiful scenery 12 minutes towards Beziers is Saint-Thomas golf course which offers 18-holes for all levels throughout the year. You will get a discount if you are staying here.
There is superb walking available in the Montagnes Noires, there is also Lac Salagou for wonderful freshwater lake swimming & water sports.
Close by are the cities of Beziers (15mins), Montpellier (50mins), Carcassonne (60mins) and Nimes (90mins). Further afield are Provence, Andorra and Barcelona.
